NBCC secures order from DMRC worth Rs 89 crore

NBCC [India] Ltd, a Navratna enterprise under the aegis of Housing and Urban Affairs ministry, has bagged an order worth Rs89 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation [DMRC] for the construction of staff quarters residential buildings for the Bhubaneswar metro rail project.

The state owned entity has been engaged for the construction of a staff quarter residential building by DMRC as a Project Management Consultant [PMC]. The total cost of the work is Rs 88.90 crore. Earlier this year, an MoU was signed between DMRC and NBCC to work together in the field of infrastructure development in India and abroad. NBCC has been listed with the National Stock Exchange [NSE] and BSE since 2012.

Earlier NBCC signed many other memorandums with Government, an order worth Rs 180 crore with SAIL Ltd. A quadripartite agreement has been signed with the Ministry of Steel, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited [RINL], and National Land Monetisation Corporation.

NBCC [India] Ltd, known as National Buildings Construction Corporation is a public sector company which is presently responsible for public construction development. The three main category for segments are,

1-Project Management Consultancy[PMC], including redevelopment of government properties

2-Engineering, procurement and construction [EPC]

3-Real estate development

The company has reported a net consolidated profit after tax of Rs 77.41 crore, while the company's net consolidated total income stood at Rs1,917 crore, up 6.6 percent from the previous quarter year.

Primarily, it is designated as the implementing agency for executing projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation [AMRUT], Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana [PMGSY], Solid Waste Management [SWM], and developmental work in North Eastern Region.
