Miner's Day celebrated with great enthusiasm at SECL

On 01-05-2024, Miner's Day was celebrated at SECL in the presence of Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra as the chief guest, Director (Finance) Mr. G. Srinivasan, Director Technical (Operations) Mr. S.N. Kapri, Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Jayant Kumar Khamari, Director Technical (Project/Planning) Mr. N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Personnel) Mr. Biranchi Das, former Director Technical Mr. N.K. Singh, Mr. C.L. Srivastava, former Director (Personnel) Mr. K.K. Srivastava, special guests Haridwar Singh (AITUC), B.M. Manohar (CITU), A.K. Pandey (CMOAI) of SECL Steering Committee, Mr. Anand Mishra (HMS), B. Dharmarao (AITUC), Sanjay Singh (BMS), Kamlesh Sharma (SEKMC), Indradev Chauhan (CITU), GS Prasad (CMOAI), CISTEA President Mr. AR Sidar, CISTEA General Secretary Mr. RP Khande, Council President Mr. OP Navrang, Council General Secretary Mr. A Vishwas, President OBC Association Mr. Anirudh Kumar Chandra, President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Mrs. Poonam Mishra, Vice Presidents Mrs. Raji Srinivasan, Mrs. Sangeeta Kapri, Mrs. Sujata Khamari, Mrs. Anitha Franklin and other honorable members, Area General Managers, Department Heads, various labor union representatives, officers and employees.

The ceremony commenced with hoisting of the flag by the chief guest, after which the chief guest and all the guests offered floral tributes at the miner's statue, after which the program was started by lighting the lamp by the chief guest and the guests on the stage. After this, Coal India Corporate Song was played and two minutes silence was observed by all present in honour of martyred labourers. The “Khanik Sankalp” was read by Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, which was repeated by all present, after which the guests on the stage, special guests, members of Welfare Board, Tripartite Security Committee, CISTA were honoured with garland and shawl. Welcome address was presented by General Manager (Sales/Marketing) Mr. CB Singh. 

On this occasion, Chief Guest Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra congratulated everyone on Miner's Day and said that we all have to remain dedicated to the values and principles of our company and keep working continuously for its progress. He said that the success of SECL is not the result of hard work of any one person or one day, but it is the result of many years of experience, hard work and dedication of our workers.

Special Guest Director (Finance) Mr. G. Srinivasan, Director Technical (Operations), Shri S.N. Kapri, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Jayant Kumar Khamari, Director Technical (Planning/Project), Shri N. Franklin Jaikumar, Director (Personnel), Shri Biranchi Das, in their address said that under the leadership of CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, the company has achieved historic production and excellent performance in all parameters in the last two years. They said that today is an auspicious day to honour the services of workers. Undoubtedly, the coal mine workers are making an invaluable contribution in securing the energy needs of the nation and making the nation economically strong by working hard day and night.

Before the program at Ravindra Bhawan, in the ceremony organized in SECL headquarters premises, Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das offered floral tributes at the martyr's memorial, Ambedkar statue and the miner's statue and hoisted the flag. On this occasion, heads of various departments and trade union representatives were present.

While congratulating the Miner's Day in his address, he said that today is the day to honor the hard work and dedication of our workers. He emphasized on keeping a humane attitude towards workers and giving them due respect.

The program was anchored by Shri Varun Sharma, Manager (Personnel) and Ms. C. Anuradha, Deputy Manager (E&M). At the end of the program, the winning participants of various categories were awarded by the guests on the stage. In the end, the vote of thanks was given to the attendees by Deputy General Manager (Personnel/Officer Establishment) Mrs. Sujata Rani.
