MGL join hands with Nawgati to drive CNG adoption among fleet operators
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) company in India, has partnered with Nawgati, a homegrown fuel aggregator startup, to enhance CNG adoption under the MGL CNG Mahotsav 2.0. This collaboration focuses on incentivizing fleet operators to adopt CNG and making the transition to this fuel option more accessible.
Under this initiative, fleet operators will be able to pay for CNG refueling using the MGL Fuel Card. Nawgati will facilitate the redemption of these fuel cards for free CNG at designated MGL stations in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad districts during the event.

Fleet operators purchasing new commercial CNG vehicles or retrofitting their existing ones will be eligible for incentives. The scheme encourages a shift from petrol and diesel to CNG, a cleaner fuel alternative, with rewards based on the type and tonnage of vehicles.
Nawgati’s advanced digital platform will simplify refueling operations for fleet operators. Through the MGL Fleet Platform operators can register, set up accounts, add vehicles and drivers, and manage refueling activities at participating MGL stations. Fleet operators can use the MGL Fuel Card for payments either physically or virtually.
Transactions can be made by tapping the physical card at POS machines or using digital options via the MGL Connect app or Nawgati Fuelling app. These fuel cards will be accepted at participating MGL CNG stations, including select BEST bus depots in Ghatkopar and Goregaon.
As a technical partner, Nawgati will support MGL’s closed-loop payment system for fleet owners participating in the scheme. This system aims to ensure efficient transactions at MGL stations, promote CNG sales, and support environmental sustainability efforts.
