MDL Exhibits At DEFEXPO 2020
New Delhi: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL), the shipyard under the Ministry of Defence is showcasing their three (3) premier product viz. Destroyer, Frigate and Submarine that is being built for the Indian Navy. MDL is also showcasing its multifaceted capability for building warships and merchant vessels.
MDL is also organizing a half day seminar on 07 Feb 2020 with the theme Digital Transformation in Ship Design and Construction with participation from the Indian Navy, Captains of the industry, Shipyards, Private vendors, academia and DPSUs. This seminar is envisaged to service as a platform for also having an interaction in some of the above aspects.
As regards specific products, MDL is showcasing three Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled products as follows:
- AI enabled Radiography inspection of weld for Shipbuilding application and AI enabled Ultrasonic Non-destructive inspection of weld for Shipbuilding application. MDL has developed these AI technologies in partnership with IIT Madras in partnership with the Dhvani Research, an IITM Startup.
- AI enabled Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) that can carry out functionalities of underwater imaging, underwater thickness measurement of Ship’s hull and underwater cleaning of Ship’s hull.
- Electrical panels developed in-house by MDL
