The Competent Authority has approved the re-designation of Himanshu Roy (IRS) from Deputy Secretary to Director in the Department of Pharmaceuticals. This change is personal to him and will take effect on the date he assumes charge.

Roy is a 2011-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Roy will serve in his new role until September 4, 2028, or until further orders, whichever comes first.

This move reflects the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within key departments. The Department of Pharmaceuticals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, plays a crucial role in shaping policies for the growth and regulation of India's pharmaceutical sector.
