India's Coal Team visits underground mine in USA

Shri. V.K.Tiwari, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, Shri. Manoj Kumar, CMD, CMPDI, Shri. Anandji Prasad, Advisor (Projects), MoC, Shri. Achyut Ghatak, General Manager (Corporate Planning), CIL, Shri. C. Patra, General Manager (CED), CMPDI visited Harrison County Coal Mine in Western Virginia, U.S.A.

They visited the mine to understand the intricacies of the Pre-Mining Methane Extraction Process and facilities for safe underground mining.

The Harrison County Mine, also known as the Robinson Run No 95 Mine is an underground coal mine, operated by Harrison County Coal Company, a subsidiary of Murray Energy Corporation, producing 7.2 million short tons per annum, in Monongah, Marion, West Virginia, United States.
