Indian Oil to set up 80,000 tonnes aviation fuel plant in Haryana
The project aims to promote sustainable aviation fuel and reduce carbon emissions in the aviation industry.
New Delhi: Indian Oil Corp has announced that it will establish an 80,000-tonne sustainable aviation fuel plant in Haryana in partnership with LanzaJet. The company's chairman S.M Vaidya on the sidelines of an industry event on Wednesday said that the company is seeing an investment of around 23 billion rupees.
The project aims to promote sustainable aviation fuel and reduce carbon emissions in the aviation industry.

The plant will use LanzaJet's innovative Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology to manufacture sustainable aviation fuel. Indian Oil Corp hopes to bolster its contribution to the country's biofuels industry by investing in sustainable aviation fuel production. The plant is expected to be operational by 2025.
Currently the refiner is running its green fuel pilot project with Praj Industries in Western States of Maharashtra, Vaidya said.
