India Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline: completed Hydro-testing of Part-B Section

New Delhi: The India Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline that is designed to transport diesel from India to Bangladesh through a 10 " dia pipeline over a 130km distance, completed its Hydro-testing of Part-B Section ( 73.46 Km). 

The testing of the last section was completed this week despite the restrictions on cross-border movement due to the Covid pandemic, inclement weather, etc with the collaborative team effort of Corrtech International Pvt Ltd, EIL, NRL, and Govt Authorities on both sides of the border.

IBFP project, 130 km oil pipeline costs Rs 346 crore, inked in 2018, with the capacity will be one million metric tonnes per annum. This will export fuel from Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) via the Siliguri Marketing Terminal to Bangladesh.
