Inauguration of first 220kV GIS (Gas Insulated Substation) commissioned by DVC’s T&D wing at Burdwan
New Delhi: Another feather was added to the well adorned cap of DVC when the first GIS substation commissioned by its T&D wing was inaugurated on 25.09.2022 at Burdwan by Chairman, Shri R.N.Singh.
The event was attended by Member (Technical), Shri M.Raghu Ram, Member (Finance), Shri Arup Sarkar, Member-Secretary, Dr John Mathai, along with Executive Directors, Chief Engineers & other officials of DVC. The 220kV substation, having seven bays, is linked to the existing 132kV system through two 160MVA ATR & connected to the Parulia substation of DVC by 102km long Double circuit Line which was also inaugurated today. The new setup is intended to cater to prospective consumers around Burdwan zone & is also expected to improve the voltage profile in the lower Damodar Valley region.
Later in a conference held on this occasion, appreciation letters were handed over by Chairman to the executives associated with the project who overcame a lot of odds & adverse site conditions to bring it to successful completion.
