Rajasthan has long been a preferred backdrop for Bollywood and Hollywood films. Movies can elevate a destination’s global standing, as seen with Satyajit Ray’s 1974 classic ‘Sonar Kella’ (The Golden Fortress), which brought international recognition to Jaisalmer Fort. Its intriguing themes of reincarnation and mystery drew tourists, particularly from Bengal and other states, a trend that continues even today. Similarly, IIFA 2025 will put diverse tourism attractions of Rajasthan on the global stage which will further enhance its appeal.
Tourism Commissioner Mr. Vijay Pal Singh shared that the state government is introducing several initiatives to promote film tourism. These include:
- Dedicated film-shooting facilities at heritage sites
- Special tour packages for cinema enthusiasts
- Platforms to highlight local talent
Mr. Singh mentioned that IIFA 2025 will not only benefit the film industry but will also boost local tourism, businesses, and cultural activities. Thousands of film enthusiasts, media professionals, and tourists are expected to visit Jaipur for the event, directly supporting hotels, restaurants, the handicraft sector, and transportation services.
With its blend of heritage and cinematic grandeur, Rajasthan is set to take center stage as the ideal host for IIFA’s silver jubilee edition.
