PFCC Unit Progress: HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Erects Massive Reactor Part
NEW DELHI- The Energy Soldiers of HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited, along with collaborators from EIL, L&T, HRRL, and other partners, has achieved a significant milestone in the construction of the PFCC (Petrochemical Fluidized Catalytic Cracking) Unit.
The bottom part of the Reactor, weighing a massive 421.5 MT, has been successfully erected at the site, marking a historic moment in the refinery's progress.
The PFCC Unit Reactor, which is the heaviest and largest piece of equipment to be fabricated at the site and erected in a refinery, required meticulous planning and precision engineering. The skilled team of professionals from various organizations worked tirelessly to ensure the safe and successful erection of this critical component.

About HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited:
HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited is a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan. The refinery is located in the Barmer district of Rajasthan and is being constructed at an estimated cost of INR 43,129 crores. Once completed, it will have a processing capacity of 9 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) and will produce a wide range of petroleum products to cater to the growing energy demands of the country.
About PFCC Unit:
The Petrochemical Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (PFCC) Unit is a critical component of a refinery that converts heavy hydrocarbons into lighter and more valuable products, such as gasoline, diesel, and propylene. It employs a fluidized bed of catalysts to break down heavy hydrocarbon molecules into smaller ones through a process called cracking, resulting in the production of high-quality fuels and petrochemicals. The successful erection of the Reactor bottom part marks a significant milestone in the construction of the PFCC Unit at the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited.
