State-owned PSU oil refinery HPCL has announced that HPCL and OIL India Ltd. have signed an MoU to explore new business opportunities in the energy sector, including Oil & Gas, Sustainable and Renewable Energy, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, and Green Hydrogen.

C&MD of Oil India Ltd, Dr. Ranjit Rath, emphasized the significant potential for carbon sequestration and storage in the gas fields of Rajasthan and Assam.

HPCL’s  C&MD, Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi,  highlighted the powerful synergy between the two Maharatnas, showcasing their past association and envisioning this MoU as a new benchmark in the Oil & Gas and Renewable space.

This landmark agreement was signed in the presence of the C&MD and Functional Directors of both HPCL and OIL.
