e-Aadhaar is a digitally signed electronic version of the Aadhaar card issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), serves as a valid proof of identity and address and contains the same information as the physical Aadhaar card. Downloading your e-Aadhaar is a convenient way to keep a digital copy of your Aadhaar card. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides a simple process to download your e-Aadhaar online.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you download your e-Aadhaar:

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI Website

  • Open your web browser and go to the official UIDAI website atuidai.gov.in.

Step 2: Navigate to the e-Aadhaar Download Page

  • On the UIDAI homepage, hover over the "My Aadhaar" tab in the menu bar.

  • From the dropdown menu, select "Download Aadhaar."

Step 3: Enter Your Details

  • On the e-Aadhaar download page, you will need to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, 16-digit Virtual ID (VID), or 28-digit Enrollment ID (EID).

  • After entering the required ID, enter the security code displayed on the screen.

Step 4: Request OTP

  • Click on the "Send OTP" button.

  • You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Enter OTP and Download e-Aadhaar

  • Enter the OTP received on your mobile number in the provided field.

  • Click on the "Verify and Download" button.

  • Your e-Aadhaar will be downloaded as a PDF file.

Step 6: Open and Access Your e-Aadhaar

  • The downloaded PDF file is password-protected. To open it, use an 8-character password, which is a combination of the first four letters of your name in capital letters and the year of your birth (e.g., if your name is RAVI KUMAR and you were born in 1990, your password will be RAVI1990).

  • Once opened, you can view, print, or save your e-Aadhaar for future use.
