Government extends RBI Deputy Governor M. Rajeshwar Rao's tenure by one year
Mr. Rao is currently in charge of the RBI's departments of regulation, risk monitoring, communication, enforcement, and legal.
Government extends RBI Deputy Governor M. Rajeshwar Rao's tenure by one year
New Delhi: India's government approved the re-appointment of Reserve Bank of India deputy governor M. Rajeshwar Rao for one year starting Oct. 9 or until further orders, it said.
Rao was first appointed deputy governor in September 2020 for three years and was given a one-year extension in 2023. With the latest re-appointment, Rao would serve a total of five years in the position.
Mr. Rao is currently in charge of the RBI's departments of regulation, risk monitoring, communication, enforcement, and legal.
