Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Ahmedabad Railway Station Redevelopment Project on Saturday and announced that 360 km of the Bullet Train project has been completed, with significant progress being made in the Maharashtra section.

He mentioned that a two-and-a-half-year delay caused by permission issues during the tenure of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is now being addressed. “The work on almost 360 km of the Bullet Train project has been completed.

We are also working to compensate for the two-and-a-half-year delay caused by the permission denial by (Uddhav) Thackeray,” said Vaishnaw. He further said that the Maharashtra section of the Bullet Train project is advancing well, with “almost 2 km of the undersea tunnel completed.”

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu inspected the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project for the first time on Saturday and praised the initiative as a crucial step toward India’s infrastructural development.

Speaking to the media, Bittu expressed his appreciation for the project’s execution. “I am visiting this project for the first time. This is PM Modi’s vision. His idea and vision are commendable.

One lakh people have gained employment through this project… It is a great initiative.” He emphasized the importance of high-speed rail for global progress and noted that this project aligns with PM Modi’s vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat.’

While work in Gujarat is progressing at a good pace, some delays remain in Maharashtra due to pending land acquisition. Praising the efficiency of the officials and workers, Bittu highlighted, “A 40-meter span of the bridge is being constructed in just 16 hours. This demonstrates the remarkable speed of the construction work.”
