Go UP on a Staircase. do not jump Story of Smt. Urmila
Singrauli: Smt. Urmila who is working as Armature Winder in Central Workshop of Northern Coalfields Limited is fond of opportunities the company provides for professional and personal growth.
Smt.Urmila shares candidly, "In my initial years of service, I was pretty disconnected with my work. My work only meant salary for me. Many a times, I felt like quitting. But due to family responsibilities, working was necessary and I stayed put. Later, I was posted in DC section. Gradually over the years, I realized that my work is important. Many important people come to visit CWS and they come to DC section of Electrical Shop. I work on armature of Dragline. My heart swells with pride at the fact that I contribute towards the working of such spectacular machine. For past 15 years, I take work as celebration. My children are well settled. NCL helped me grow and learn. I aspire to work on more important tasks of the electrical shop"
Talking to Smt.Urmila yields several related and unrelated inputs. But when everything is strung together, a beautiful truth emerges which suggests that over the years, she has developed an intellectual understanding and agreement with her work.
Today Smt.Urmila openly shares her joy in being able to contribute in working of Dragline in fields. Her story testifies an old adage- 'Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible and suddenly one day you will be doing the impossible.'
Working solemnly years after years, Smt Urmila never sought to jump into big experiences. Gradually and patiently her work has brought her to a certain point where there are no questions of falling because she has gone up on the staircase, she didn't just jump from somewhere.
