Dun and Bradstreet India honours the Torchbearers of the PSU Sector
New Delhi: Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the world’s leading provider of global business information, Recently recognized the PSUs who are the front-runners in their respective sectors through the ‘PSU Awards 2018’ in the presence of Shri Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and Member, NITI Aayog, Government of India in Delhi. The fifth edition of the awards acknowledges the stellar performance and imperative role played by the leading PSUs in the socio-economic development of the country.
Further, with an aim to acknowledge the contribution of the PSU sector, Dun & Bradstreet India showcased the 11th edition of the publication titled ‘India’s Top PSUs 2018’. The revered publication provides valuable information about the leading public-sector undertakings (PSUs) of India along with their notable achievements, financial and operational performance.
Showcasing the publication and highlighting the contribution of the PSU sector in India, Manish Sinha, Managing Director, Dun & Bradstreet India commented, In recent years there has been an extensive narrative on ‘responsible and inclusive capitalism’. This approach to business serves customers, employees and society, in addition to shareholders.
Indian PSUs have been embodying this philosophy before this vocabulary existed. Many PSUs were created after independence and in the decades that followed, have supported India’s self-reliant economic growth and balanced regional development.
It is a credit to them that they have delivered these socially desirable outcomes despite many challenges: the shortage of talent and non-commercial targets. D&B celebrates India’s Top PSUs 2018 to acknowledge their contribution to the Indian economy.
Dun & Bradstreet India has developed a proprietary financial model for identifying the top PSUs in each category. The model takes into consideration size, growth and profitability indicators to arrive at the final award winners.
