DMRC developing Metro Forest in Jaipur
NEW DELHI: The dry climes of Jaipur haven`t stopped the Delhi Metro from trying to build a city forest. Delhi Metro, which built the first phase of the metro - which was commissioned in June last year - is in the process of implementing the second phase. Along with the construction of the metro line, the agency is developing a "metro forest", as it is calling the green area.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesman Shri Anuj Dayal said, "Jaipur Metro has developed a metro forest in 5 hec tares of forest land and planted about 3,000 new trees. In addition, some old trees which had to be shifted from the construction site have been transplanted here."
