Construction Grade Sand from Mine Overburden - Yet another innovative Green Initiative of NLCIL
New Delhi: NLC India Ltd, Neyveli is always in the forefront of implementing ‘Green Initiatives’ to take care of the environment. As part of the Green Initiatives in line with sustainable practices being promoted by the Ministry of Coal, Govt of India for maximizing the ‘Waste to Wealth Concept’ in the utilization of natural sources and minimizing the impact on the environment and River eco-system, Bhoomi Puja for the proposed OB to M-Sand Plant at Mine-IA, Neyveli was performed on 12.12.2023 in presence of Shri. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD/NLCIL, FDs, Executive Directors and Senior Officials of NLCIL.
Read Also : CMD inaugurates BPCL's 1st LNG Fueling StationThis plant is expected to produce Civil construction Grade M-Sand of 2.62 Lakh Cubic meter per year from Mine Overburden and it is very important given the scarcity of natural sand. The plant is expected to be operationalized by the end of January 2024.

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD/NLCIL said that already the contract has been awarded for execution and this environment-friendly green initiative would be further expanded in future.
