Coal India wins Golden Peacock CSR Award 2024
Coal India Ltd. (CIL) has been honored with the Golden Peacock CSR Award 2024 at the 19th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility held in Mumbai on Thursday. Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman, CIL along with Shri Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel), CIL, received the award at a ceremony organized by the Institute of Directors.
This esteemed recognition underscores CIL’s unwavering commitment to driving meaningful social impact. The company’s CSR initiatives have positively impacted over 35 million lives so far. As the highest CSR spender among Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSEs) for the past five years, CIL spent Rs 572 crore to CSR activities in the last fiscal alone. The company directs over 70% of its CSR funds toward Healthcare, Nutrition & Sanitation, and Education & Livelihood.

It constructed over 50,000 toilets under the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan, spent more than Rs 850 crore in transforming Aspirational Districts, and contributed over Rs 700 crore to support efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 across the country in recent years.
