Coal India achieves two-third production target of FY25, production rises 2.2% in nine months

For the first nine months of 2024, Coal India's production rose by 2.2% year-on-year, totaling 543.4 MT, which is approximately 65% of the company's full-year production target of 838 MT.

Coal India's production remained relatively stable in December compared to the same month last year. However, the company has managed to achieve nearly two-thirds of its production target for the financial year 2025. In December, production reached 72.4 million tonnes (MT), reflecting a growth of 0.7% from December of the previous year. Most of Coal India's units, except for South East Coalfields and Bharat Coking Coal Ltd., reported an increase in production compared to last year.

For the first nine months of 2024, Coal India's production rose by 2.2% year-on-year, totaling 543.4 MT, which is approximately 65% of the company's full-year production target of 838 MT.

Additionally, offtake in December also saw a 2.5% year-on-year increase, rising to 68.6 MT from 67 MT the previous year. Overall, for the full year so far, offtake has increased by 1.6%, reaching 561.2 MT.

Shares of Coal India are trading 0.7% higher on Wednesday at Rs 387. The stock has corrected 30% from its peak of Rs 543.
