New Delhi: India's central public sector undertaking Coal India Limited on November 1st celebrated the 48th Foundation Day. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Shri Pralhad Joshi Addressed the 48th Foundation Day programme at Coal India Limited, in Kolkata. 

He said, under PM Narendra Modi ji, the coal sector has transformed to become a driver of India's economic activities. CIL is leading the sector with promising growth in coal production and offtake.

On that note, Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi felicitated Coal companies and Individuals with the Excellence Award for their exceptional performance. 

CMPDI bags 4 awards at the CIL level

1. Exploration (Best Drilling Camp) To Kusmunda Camp, RI-V, Bilaspur.
2. Employee welfare/Cleanliness of Colony, Maintenance - RI-IV, Nagpur.
3. Best HoD - Shri Chiranjib Patra, General Manager (UMD/CED), CMPDI.
4. Award for Best Regional Director of CMPDI -  Shri R.K.Mahapatro, RD, RI-VII, Bhubaneswar (Now General Manager (HRD), CMPDI.

So far in 2022-23, CIL's target achievement is 97.6% for coal production and 100.3% for coal offtake.
