At a function held at Learning & Development centre at Visakhapatnam steel plant today, Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL presented the letter of conferring Recognized union status to Visakha Steel Workers union (AITUC) (which has emerged as the Majority union) to Shri D Adinarayana, General Secretary, AITUC, Shri KSN Rao, President, AITUC in the august presence of Sri G. Obulesu, AP State General Secretary, AITUC and leaders and a large number of 8 supporting unions of AITUC.

Congratulating the AITUC on emerging as the majority union, Sri Atul Bhatt said that  “RINL has achieved the best ever performance in the last financial year inspite of several obstacles with the collective support of all unions, dedicated and committed workforce ably supported by the VSP management”.

Production, productivity and above all welfare of RINL’s stakeholders are of utmost importance to the RINL Management, Sri Atul Bhatt added.

“There will be a structured meeting with unions every month and I am looking forward to a historic performance by RINL with the unstinted support, participative management of the AITUC and other allied unions”, Sri Atul Bhatt said.

Addressing the gathering Shri A K Saxena, Director (Operations), RINL urged the new recognized union in achieving max wealth generation by RINL. Collective wisdom and participative management by the trade unions has resulted in achieving best performance, Sri AK Saxena added.

In his address, Shri D K Mohanty, Director (Commercial) & Director (Personnel) Addl.Charge, RINL said that constructive role by the trade unions have helped in achieving the organization objectives of RINL.

“All efforts are on to increase the production & productivity to bring down the production cost. RINL’s products demand premium because of the brand image which is a matter of pride”, Sri Mohanty said.

K. Sreenivasa rao, CGM(HR)-IR & Establishment in his address said that RINL management is always open for a constructive discussion with the trade unions on any issue.

Several union leaders, members of SC/ST associations, OBC association, WIPS, Steel Executive association, officials of RINL were present on the occasion.
