Civil Aviation Secretary inaugurates ICAO PBN Workshop at AAI

New Delhi. :Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation yesterday inaugurated the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Performance Based Navigation (PBN) Workshop for ATCOs at the Indian Aviation Academy, New Delhi in the presence of Shri. Anuj Aggarwal, Chairman, Airports Authority of India; Shri. I. N. Murthy, Member (Operations) and Shri. Vineet Gulati, Member (A N S), AAI. Assisted by PBN experts of AAI; Mr. Raphael Guillet and Mr. HuHo Ha from ICAO Sub-Regional Office Beijing, are imparting training.
 
While welcoming the participants and ICAO Instructors, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, stressed upon the need for AAI to implement PBN in accordance with ICAO Plans and national needs.
 
Performance Based Navigation is an integral part of Air Traffic Management. The implementation of PBN is the highest air navigation priority for ICAO. PBN is also an important element in Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBUs). AAI in collaboration with ICAO Sub-regional Office, is conducting the workshop for air traffic controllers.
