NEW DELHI- Chairman CIL, Sh Pramod Agrawal inaugurated the 5th International Conference on Opencast Mining (ICOMS) on Monday at NCL HQ. CMD-NCL, Director (BD)-CIL,  Director-CIMFR, FDs-NCL, and prominent industry experts and academicians of the Mining Sector are gracing the event.

ED CIL, NCL's JCC Members, NCL's Area GMs and HoDs alslo remain present. ICOMS is the nation’s biggest conference on OC mining. Chairman CIL Shri Parmod Agrawal has graced the ICOMS 2022 as Chief Guest. 

While addressing the gathering, he stated that Mechanization and digitization are inevitable for sustainable Mining, especially in the era of Mining 4.0. He congratulated Team NCL for the remarkable increase in Y. O. Y. Growth rate on all performance parameters. He expressed his delight for the ICOMS & contribution of Coal Indians in the Mining Research Sector.

 Expressing his delight on the occasion, the Chairman also acknowledged the contribution of Coal Indians in the mining research sector. The ICOMS conference is considered to be the nation's biggest conference on Open Cast Mining, providing a platform for academia and industry experts to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest mining technologies.

The mining industry is an essential part of the Indian economy, and events like ICOMS provide a platform to explore the latest mining technologies and promote sustainable mining practices. The reduction in fuel prices by GAIL Gas Ltd, as reported earlier, is also a significant development that will help the mining sector reduce its operational costs and contribute to the growth of the industry.

Shri Debasish Nanda, CIL's Director of Business Development, delivered a speech on the company's initiatives to minimise carbon footprints. Shri Bhola Singh, CMD of NCL, along with senior management from NCL and mining industry specialists, were also present at this event.
