CCL CMD, P M Prasad Recommended for Coal India, Chairman
New Delhi: Public enterprises selection board (PESB) on May 3, recommended Mr Polavarapu Mallikharjuna Prasad for the post of Chairman and Managing Director at Coal India Limited.
Currently, P M Prasad is serving as CMD at Central Coalfields Limited. PESB interviewed applicants from ECL, CMPDIL, NMDC Limited, BSNL, Indian Administrative Service, and Indian Revenue Service (IT).

Back in 2020, he took charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), he put up 36 years of experience in the varied facets of operations and management. Shri Prasad is a mining engineer from Osmania University. He did M.Tech in ‘Open-Cast Mining’ from the Indian School of Mines (IIT- ISM), Dhanbad.
Shri Prasad is renowned for his interpersonal skills and is a firm believer in teamwork and possesses excellent technical expertise. Under his guidance, the company is poised to attain new milestones and scale further heights of success.
