BPCL inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2019

New Delhi: The Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 inaugurated at our Corporate office by Shri Sunil Jain, IRTS Chief Vigilance Officer BPCL, Chief Guest, Shri D. Sivanandan, former Director General of Police, Maharashtra, accompanied by Shri K. Padmakar, Director (HR), Shri Arun Kumar Singh, Director (Marketing) and Smt. Rajeswari P, Chief General Manager (Vigilance) BPCL by lighting the traditional lamp and taking the Integrity Pledge along with all present staff members.
 
Shri Sunil Jain, CVO BPCL his inaugural address spoke about the purpose of observing the Vigilance awareness week as part of preventive and participative vigilance. He emphasized on individual commitment from each and every citizen to adopt “Integrity as a way of life”. He urged that all of us need to commit ourselves by being fair, just & transparent in all our public interactions.
 
Shri D. Sivanandan stated that “Integrity” is a matter of personal choice and first lessons on integrity are learnt by children at home when parents demonstrate integrity by “walking the talk.” He stressed that three ways to reduce corruption within the organizations are – firstly, simplification of rules and procedures, secondly transparency and empowerment of public and thirdly, effective punishment of the offenders.
