BPCL announced its windmill capacity on Global Wind Day

New Delhi: India's central public sector undertaking Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Global Wind Day, announced that the company have installed a windmill capacity of 11.8 MW in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The Global Wind Day was observed to celebrate wind energy and raise awareness about its potential.

On the occasion, the company said, "Going forward, in our quest to build our Renewable Energy portfolio of 1 GW by 2025 and 10 GW by 2040, we will soon set up two windmills of 50 MW capacity each for captive consumption at our refineries in Mumbai and Bina."
