New Delhi: BEL has installed an in-house developed Air Traffic Management (ATMs) Automation System at the Bhubaneswar New Airport building for joint testing and evaluation by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and BEL with live Radar, other sensors, and data sources.
This marks a breakthrough in the ‘Make in India’ initiatives of the Government of India. The Civil Aviation Automation segment is presently dominated by foreign players and this is the first milestone toward Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The handing-over ceremony took place today (December 29, 2022) and was attended by senior management of AAI and BEL.
This is an in-house designed, user-friendly solution comprising advanced technologies – Multi-sensor tracking, Safety Net with electronic flight strip generation, and other next-generation automatic decision support features.
