BEL Achieves Provisional Turnover of Rs. 11700 Crores for FY 2018-19
Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has achieved a turnover of Rs. 11,700 Crores (Provisional & Unaudited) during the Financial Year 2018-19, sustaining double-digit growth (an increase of 16%) over the previous year's turnover of Rs. 10,085 Crores.
BEL's Order Book as on today, 1st April 2014 is Rs. 51,600 Crores. The year saw an all-time high order acquisition of Rs.23,200 Crores. Some of the major orders acquired during the year are Long Range Surface to Air Missile System, Electronic Fuze, L 70 Gun Upgrade, Weapon Repair Facility for Naval Ships, Kerala-Fibre Optics Network (K-FON), Smart City Projects, Integrated Perimeter Security Solution (IPSS), Video Surveillance System, Naval Airfield Integrated Security System (NAISS), Real Time Information System, etc.
Some of the flagship projects executed during FY 2018-19 are Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS), Weapon Locating Radar (WLR), Cdr TI Sights, Schilka Upgrade, Tropo Upgrade, Integrated Communication System (ICS), Long Range Surface to Air Missile System (LRSAM), Ground-Based EW System, L-70 Gun Upgrade, Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), etc.
BEL achieved Export sales of US$ 21.87 Million during FY 2018-19. Major products exported include Coastal Surveillance System Spares, Acoustic Test Facility, CoMPASS, Cable Looms, Electro-Mechanical parts, etc.
BEL's Chairman & Managing Director, Mr M V Gowtama, said: 'BEL strives to attain self-reliance through enhanced indigenisation activities, expansion and modernisation, outsourcing to Indian Industries, especially the SME sector. BEL has rolled out strategies to maximise its global outreach and increased footprint in international market segments in the coming years.
