BCCL Celebrates Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

Dhanbad: On the auspicious occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, several programs were organised by Areas of BCCL: Inauguration of Mahatma Gandhi Eco Park at Bera Colliery, Bastacolla by Sri Soumen Chatterjee, G.M(Bastacolla) followed by donation of clothes at Nirmala Leprosy Centre and Mahatma Gandhi Ashram respectively by Bastacolla Area Management. 

Inauguration of Mahatma Gandhi Eco Restoration Park at Lodna Area.Online inauguration of Mahatma Gandhi Smriti Upavan at Keshalpur Katras Area by Sri Gopal Singh, CMD BCCL, additionally an old dispensary situated at Ramkanali, Katras has been earmarked as Kaushal Vikas Kendra as per directives of Sri Gopal Singh CMD BCCL by Katras Area Management. Thereafter, Online inauguration of Kaushal Vikas Kendra(Vocational/Computer training centre) by Sri Gopal Singh, CMD BCCL at Barora Area to boost self employment opportunities in the region 

Inauguration of Mahatma Udyan at ABOCP Mine of Block 2 Area by Sri Chanchal Goswami, Director Tech(Project and Planning) BCCL followed by Sapling plantation.

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, 02.10.20, “Sneh Paropkar Kendra”, situated near Sai Mandir Koyla Nagar was inaugurated by Sri Rakesh Kumar, DT OP BCCL, Sri Samiran Dutta, DF BCCL, Sri Chanchal Goswami, DT PP BCCL, Sri PVKRM Rao, DP BCCL in virtual presence of  Sri Gopal Singh, CMD BCCL. The sole purpose of setting up this Kendra is inspired by the noble idea of Mahatma Gandhi’s principle of service to mankind.

Residents of the city shall be able to donate old clothes, ration and food items which shall further be donated to the needy people of the society through proper identification adhering to a set of norms. The highlight of this Kendra is ‘Suhag Peti’ containing items necessary for marriage of a girl shall also be donated to the ones in need. The live webcast of the event via youtube was available and people from India and abroad in huge numbers viewed the webcast of the inauguration.
