MHI has been consistently supporting CPSEs in the direction of reducing their carbon footprint. As part of this, with the backing of MHI, BHEL has developed Advanced Ultra Supercritical (AUSC) technology for increasing the efficiency of thermal power plants which will produce more power from less coal, thereby playing a vital role in the country's energy security.

In addition to evaluating their performance, the Ministry also works closely with CPSEs to support their growth and development. This includes providing guidance on key issues such as indigenisation in line with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'.
