Ankur Baruah recommended as Director (HR) of Oil India Ltd

He was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Human Resources at the same organization.

Ankur Baruah has been recommended as the next Director of Human Resources at Oil India Limited, a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).

He was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Human Resources at the same organization.

Baruah was chosen from a pool of 12 candidates interviewed by the PESB Selection Panel during its selection meeting (number 03/2025) held on January 15.

Among the 12 candidates, five were from Oil India, two from Indian Railways, and one each from Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), ONGC Limited, National Textile Corporation Limited, NBCC (India) Limited, and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL).

As Director (HR) of OIL, Baruah will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for HR planning and organizing manpower resources, HR policies, performance management, compensation management, secession planning, talent management, training, capability building, employee services, industrial relations, CSR, Security, and Legal functions in the organization.
