It may be noted that Indian Porcupine is a protected animal under schedule IV of the Indian Wildlife (Protection Act),1972.
Agro Forestry wing of RINL rescues injured Indian Porcupine (Hystrix indica)
New Delhi- An Indian Porcupine (Hystrix indica (rodent)) which was found in an injured condition in the RINL ukkunagaram Township was immediately rescued by the Agro-Forestry wing of the Town administration department of RINL, Visakhapatnam steel plant and was handed over to Vizag Zoo authorities with the help of AP Forest Department for further necessary medical treatment at their end.
It may be noted that Indian Porcupine is a protected animal under schedule IV of the Indian Wildlife (Protection Act),1972.
Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL lauded the Agro-forestry wing of the Town administration department for their instantaneous gesture truly reflecting the philosophy of Conservation of flora and fauna which always remains RINL's prime commitment towards the conservation of Nature.
