AAI working on greenfield airport at Hollongi; to be ready by this year
The airport is situated about 15 km away from Itanagar, and will help in connecting the state by air.
It is designed for operations of A-320 category of air craft and future extension of Runway by 500m length to cater A-321 type of aircraft.
New Delhi: Airport Authority of India's Hollongi greenfield airport project in Arunachal Pradesh will be ready this year. AAI has undertaken the construction work of the greenfield project in March. It is designed for operations of A-320 category of air craft and future extension of Runway by 500m length to cater A-321 type of aircraft.
The estimated cost of this project is around Rs. 645 crore. The airport is situated about 15 km away from Itanagar and will help in connecting the state by air.
Other development works of the project include the construction of airport sidewalk, airside works, terminal building, and city side works. About 60 percent of the airport work has been completed.
The terminal will be an energy-efficient building provisioned with a Rain Water Harvesting system and sustainable landscape. The development work also includes the construction of ATC Tower cum Technical Block, Fire station, Medical Centre, and other ancillary works.
