According to the AAI's passenger statistics, Kolkata Airport's International Traffic in November 2023 was 2,06,645 compared last four years, in November 2020 it was 16,107.

New Delhi: India has come so far in the aviation sector, Compared with the last few years the achievement is remarkable. The surge in international passenger footfall and aircraft movements across all Indian airports is the outcome of synchronized efforts put in by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. 

Over the past four years, Kolkata Airport has witnessed a remarkable upswing in international passenger statistics and aircraft movements said AAI in its recent post on social media. This growth can be attributed to the concerted efforts of AAI and the Ministry of Civil Aviation in improving connectivity and providing modern amenities to travellers.

The development of new greenfield airports and the modernization of existing ones have significantly contributed to the increased capacity and efficiency of the airport.

This comprehensive approach has not only boosted tourism and trade but has also positioned India as a global aviation hub.
