NEW DELHI- AAI’s Calicut Airport is undertaking re-carpeting work on the 2.86 km runway and connected Taxiways to provide better surface quality for smooth and safe aircraft operations. Due to this daytime flights are rescheduled as runway will be closed from 10am to 6pm for 6 months.
Periodic re-carpeting of the runway is important for smooth flight operations as it ensures enhanced braking action that the runway is in top condition to receive the aircraft.
