Secretary (Power), NHPC CMD visit CVPPPL Projects at Kishtwar
Secretary (Power) assured full support for early commencement of construction activities at the project after receiving PIB/CCEA clearances.

Jammu Kashmir: Sh. Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India visited CVPPPL Projects viz Pakal Dul (1000 MW), Kiru (624 MW) & Kwar (540 MW) hydropower Projects at Kishtwar District, J&K from 06.10.2021 to 07.10.2021 & reviewed the ongoing activities. He was accompanied by Sh. A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, Sh. Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary (PDD), Govt. of J&K, Sh. Vishal Kapoor, Joint Secretary (Distribution), MOP, Govt. of India, Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma, DC, Kishtwar, Sh. Rajat Gupta, MD CVPPPL & other senior officials of CVPPPL & District administration.
Secretary (Power) inspected the ongoing construction works of the Diversion tunnel and expressed satisfaction with the progress of construction works at the project & also advised to work meticulously in a planned manner to achieve the critical milestones of river diversion so that the construction works of the cofferdam and Concrete Face Rockfill dam can be commenced immediately. The dignitaries visited the Powerhouse & TBM sites of the Pakal Dul H.E. Project & inspected various construction fronts. He expressed satisfaction on the progress of underground caverns & advised to complete the pending works on priority. He was apprised of the progress of works in the surge shaft / TBM area and he advised the TBM contractor to make the tunnel boring machine available at site and start boring as early as possible.
He also visited Kiru H.E. Project and inspected the ongoing construction activities at various underground & surface structures. He expressed pleasure on the progress of excavation works at the Project & also advised the project to work meticulously in a planned manner to achieve the critical milestone of river diversion as per schedule so that construction works of coffer dam & concrete gravity dam can be commenced immediately. Enroute to the PakalDul Powerhouse site the dignitaries had a bird's eye view of the proposed locations of major project components of Kwar HE Project.
