SCOPE Convention on Digital India

NEW DELHI: Two-days National Convention on Digital India Opportunities & Challenges” was inaugurated by Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad,  Union Minister of Law & Justice and Electronics & Information Technology organized by Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE). The Minister also released Two SCOPE Booklets: (1) Special issue of KALEIDOSCOPE on Digital India; and (2) Best HR Practices to be adopted by Public Sector Enterprises which is outcome of Two-day International HR Summit organized by SCOPE this year. 
 
The Minister Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad highlighted the advantages of digitalization not only for system development but also for inclusion of rural India.  He told that PSEs has to take up the challenge to digitalize India in both letter and spirit.  The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to digitalize India which is the vision and mission of Prime Minister.  
 
Mr. Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD, MMTC while highlighting PSEs initiatives towards Digital India mentioned that SCOPE has organized this Convention to discuss the current trends practiced by leading organizations and to better equip PSE executives with latest digital technology.
 
Dr. U.D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE while expressing his concern on risk of cyber security emphasized  review of existing cyber security policy (2013) to bring new policy for risk management and risk advisory role. He expressed that there must be mandatory provision for alternative back up in digitalization so that in case of any emergency, back up system could run without hindrance.    
 
Also present on the occasion were Mr. R.K. Bahuguna, Vice Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, RailTel, and a galaxy of PSEs which include Chairmen, Directors and senior executives.  Knowledge resource person Mr. Neeraj Singh, Director, Management Consulting, KPMG India Pvt. Limited was also present.
