PRSI Chapter organises Workshop on photography skills

NEW DELHI. The Public Relations Society of India (Delhi Chapter) launched the third workshop on photography on September 13, 2019 at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, auditorium New Delhi. Shri Ashok Pradhan (Retd. IAS) Former Secretary , GOI and Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan inaugurated the workshop. Shri Pushkar Hans, renowned fashion photographer and Shri Umesh Mehta, International Photography Coach conducted the program, . This platform has been specially designed by PRSI as a knowledge-sharing space for PR and communication professionals.
 
Shri Pradhan said, “The aim is to popularise workshops which equip the young professionals and students with practical skills. Photography is one of the most essential skills, which is less taught in mainstream education. The applications of photography are immense and today’s workshop plans to equip all the participants with this additional yet highly useful ability.
 
Today’s workshop was focused on technicalities of photography and live demonstrations to bring about the best shots using the most common handheld device, i.e., your phone.
 
Shri Umesh Mehta an international photography coach, began with the first session and explained about the basic technicalities involved in using a camera. In one of his explanations, he said that photography is artful creation using light and that if there are no light photos cannot be created. His emphasis remained on how even the basic photography tools could bring about enriching photo results when printed. He presented his 30-year old photographic demonstrations clicked from basic reel and film cameras of the past. The photos he exhibited left the audience spellbound with the possibilities lying hidden even in most elementary photographic tools. Mr. Umesh practically experimented with lights and reflectors showing how big impact even a change of lighting angle could do to a photo.
 
Shri Naresh Kumar, Chairman of PRSI (Delhi Chapter) explained, “We are continually bringing renowned experts in field of communication and giving them platform to share the experience with us through the Banyan Tree Series.
 
The second session started with Mr. Pushkar Hans showing the abilities of the most common handheld device, such as a mobile phone to click studio-like photos. Adding on to the experimentation with lighting, as initially taught by Mr. Umesh Mehta, Mr. Pushkar called audience members to have their hots clicked. Mr. Pushkar Hans revealed that good photography was much more than using expensive camera and big apparatus.
 
The adroitness of the photographers giving live sessions and experiential know-how brought about highly impressive photos on a simple iPhone camera. Without using sophisticated photo setups, the room was light with vibrant photos coming out of a mobile photo by simply altering and tweaking the lighting conditions. The last session was the Q&A round, where the audience got an opportunity to clarify their doubts. Today’s workshop ended with thanking the guests and teachers of the day and then the hall was opened for tea and refreshments for all the participants. In the begning, Shri G.S. Bawa, Program Director,PRSI presented brief about the workshop. Program was anchored by Shri Akshat Chopra. Dr H.S. paul , Vice President ,welcome the dignitaries. Shri Rajat Gupta presented Vote of Thanks. Shri K.N. Dhawan , and Shri J P Daoundiyal, Shri Jitendra Bakchi . was also present in the program.
