NRDC and National Sugar Institute Kanpur Signed an Agreement for Transfer of Technologies
New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), has signed an Agreement with National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur for transfer and commercialization of the technologies developed at NSI.
The Agreement was signed by Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC, Dr. H. Purushotham and Prof. Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur in the gracious presence of Shri Ravikant, Secretary and Shri Suresh Kumar Vashishth, Joint Secretary (Sugar & Admin.), Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and other senior officials of Ministry and NRDC.
The scope of the Agreement includes providing Intellectual Property (IP) protection services to the scientific and technological developments of the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur and transferring of technologies developed by NSI to Start-ups and Industry.
The National Sugar Institute (NSI) is involved in research, training and advisory services to the sugar and allied industry, and functions under the Department of Food and Public Distribution of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. It provides technical education and training in research in all branches of sugar chemistry, sugar technology, sugar engineering and allied fields.
NRDC with its vast experience of licencing of technologies to over 5000 enterprises, this partnership could facilitate National Sugar Institute, Kanpur to take their technologies to the market place.
