NLCIL has admirably increased its Power Generation Capacity from 3240 MW to 5193 MW
Neyveli. The Independence Day of the Nation was celebrated at NLCIL with great fervour and enthusiasm. Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL garlanded the bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Township Administration Office premises and inaugurated the day long celebrations. Later, he hoisted the tricolour flag at the Bharathi Stadium. He also inspected the ceremonial parade and accepted the Guard of Honour presented by the Rifle, Commando and Fire Service units of Central Industrial Security Force, NLCIL’s Security Force, Home Guards, NCC volunteers and students from Neyveli schools and colleges.
Speaking on the company’s performance, Shri Rakesh kumarstated that the Power generation capacity of the company had risen from 3240 MW to 5193 MW within a period of last 5 years. It was a matter of pride that, in the process, NLCIL had very recently crossed a major milestone of 1000 MW capacity in Solar Energy.
Shri R.Vikraman, Director (Human Resource) welcomed the gathering. To mark the occasion, the senior most employee of NLCIL Smt. S.Vaijayanthi Mala Spl. Gr.A, Attendent of MMC along with her spouse Shri S.Selvaraj were honored by Shri Rakesh Kumar and Smt.Kanchan Rakesh Kumar . Tricycles were presented to Shri S.Siva Balan and Shri C.Vijay Kumar, differently abled persons (Divyangs) from the nearby Ceylon Refugees Colony.
The long service awards, loyal service awards and special awards to students who excelled in sports were presented by CMD and Functional Directors. Shri R.Vikraman announced a gift worthing Rs.15.00 lakh for the students who performed in the Independence Day cultural programme.
Further to the function at Bharathi Stadium Members of the Neyveli Ladies Club distributed fruits to the in-patients of the NLCIL General Hospital and wished them a speedy recovery. A Samabanthi Bojanam was organized at Block 28 Murugan Temple. In the evening, certificates to the students of the Neyveli Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha were distributed at Learning & Development Centre, Block-20, Neyveli.
