IndianOil Bags Highest tally OISD Safety Awards
New Delhi: At the recently-concluded 22nd Refining and Petrochemicals Technology Meet, held under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, in Bhubaneswar, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, presented the Oil Industry Safety Awards that recognise excellence in safety performance of the oil industry. The highest tally of awards was bagged by India’s flagship energy company Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC). Shri Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil, while congratulating his team members, said, ‘’It is of paramount importance in our sector to provide the safe environment for all stakeholders. Our Corporation shall be executing projects worth Rs. 1,59,000 crores in the next five years. In our quest for newer goals and aspirations, the importance of safety in all our projects and operations is a top priority.’’
For the year 2015-16, several installations and locations of IndianOil bagged awards under various categories: Barauni Refinery (Refinery/Other Process Plants); Chennai-Trichy-Madurai Product Pipeline (Cross-country Pipelines); North Zone (Marketing-POL); and an individual category award for Shri Dilawar Singh (contract worker) for his contribution towards safety; while for 2016-17 its Haldia Refinery (Refineries/ Other Processing Plant), North Zone (Marketing-POL) and two IOCians Shri Arun Kumar Singh and Shri Satendra Verma for individual contribution for safety have also been awarded.
