IRCTC LITE WEBSITE - A NEW AND IMPROVED SERVICE

NEW DELHI .  Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched “IRCTC Lite” during tatkal period i.e. 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs. Every day, this service is now effective from 0930 hrs.  In this effort, IRCTC removed all the links, images, ads, services, features which are not helping or not required at the time of premium tatkal ticket booking.

 

And this paid dividend in the form of increased number of booking during the Tatkal period. In the first hour of Tatkal booking (1000-1100 hrs) the earlier average booking before the introduction of the “IRCTC Lite” was around 48,000, which has now jumped to more than 58,000. It has even touched record hourly (1000-1100 hrs) bookings of 70,661, 71,754 and 71,225 on 2nd, 16th and 23rd February 2014 respectively.
