DVC to set up Renewable Energy Facilities at Ramakrishna Mission

KOLKATA. The Damodar Valley Corporation has decided to install renewable energy facilities at iconic places in its command area to reduce the carbon footprint.
 
Accordingly, DVC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme has dedicated a 164 kWp grid connected roof top solar project to the Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha, Belur Math.The project was inaugurated bySwami Divyanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha, Shri Sutirtha Bhattacharya, Chairperson, West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC)in the presence of Shri P.K. Mukhopadhyay, Member-Secretary& Shri R.P. Tripathi, Member (Technical), DVC. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several monks from Ramakrishna Mission and high officials of DVC.
 
The project will provide a clean source of energy for more than 8500 students in their learning environment and help replace the conventional sources of energy.In addition, the project will also result in significant cost savings for the institution.
