DVC Celebrates International Day of Yoga
Kolkata: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Celebrates 5th 'International Day of Yoga' (IDY) on 21stJune 2019 across the Valley with the enthusiastic participation of employees, CISF Jawans and their family members.
The logo of IDY-2019 reflects harmony and peace for humanity which is the essence of Yoga and aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. At Headquarters, the celebration started with lighting of lamp by Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj from Ramkrishna Mission, Sarada Pitha, Belur Math. Member-Secretary, CVO, Additional Secretary, ED (HR) were also present on this occasion.
An expert Yoga teacher from R.K. Mission initially briefed about the essence of Yogic exercises on the health of individuals and thereafter, held a practice session with demonstration of asanas. Innumerable employees enthusiastically participated during the practice sessions. On the International Day of Yoga-2019, an enthralling practice session with demonstrations was also held at various projects of DVC.
Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj addressed the gathering about yoga and benefits of practicing it to individual in everyday life. He shared his experience about Yoga practice and enlightened the participants about scientific relevance and importance of Yoga in our life. Swamiji also explained how Yoga benefits to reduce stress for a healthier body and mind.
A quiz competition and rapid fire questions concerning Yoga was also organized by the DVC management on the occasion of this IDY.
The entire programme was organized by Additional Secretary, ED (HR) and Sr. JS & HOO at Hq. and HOP at various projects with active support from all employees of the corporation and its CISF Units.
