BPCL Provides Aids to Disabled People
Chembur: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in association with ALIMCO provides Aids and assortative devices to the disabled People. In the camp organised by BPCL under its CSR Initiative SmartCane, SmartPhone, Tricycle Convention Hand Propelled and BTE Digital Type Hearing Aid distributed to the disabled people. These devices were manufactured by ALIMCO to assist people with orthopaedic, visual, auditory, mental and cerebral disabilities.
According to Mr. E Rozario, General Manager (Admin) at the BPCL refinery, the total number of 220 aids were distributed among 112 beneficiaries in the surrounding premises of Mumbai Refinery area.
Seaking on the occasion Shri Sanjay Mandal, Regional Head of ALIMCO said, 'Around 2.8 per cent of India’s population suffers from some sort of disability,'. 'The government grant allocated to provide them with aid is not enough. Therefore, we partnered with BPCL to provide differently-abled people with aid through CSR'. he further added.
