BHEL EDN, Bengaluru handed over Ambulance to BBMP under CSR
The vehicle was flagged off by Shri Jain and Dr. Shivakumar. Senior officials of BHEL and representatives of various unions and associations were present on this occasion.
Bengaluru: BHEL’s Electronics Division (EDN), donated an ambulance to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) under its CSR initiative on September 23, 2021. At a brief event held at EDN, Shri AK Jain, Executive Director (EDN) handed over the key and documents of the ambulance to the BBMP officials led by Dr. Shivakumar, Health Officer, BBMP-South Zone and Dr. Komala, Health Officer, BBMP-Vijayanagar Division.
The vehicle was flagged off by Shri Jain and Dr. Shivakumar. Senior officials of BHEL and representatives of various unions and associations were present on this occasion.
In his address, Dr. Shivakumar appreciated the initiatives taken up by EDN to combat Covid-19 and thanked the unit for the contributions made to BBMP, like providing RTPCR test kits, sanitizers, hand gloves and masks. He also appreciated the employees for their Covid-appropriate behaviour to contain further spread of the pandemic.
Shri Jain gave a brief account of the CSR activities and other preventive measures taken up by EDN to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. He also expressed his gratitude to BBMP officials for conducting several Covid vaccination drives in the unit, covering all employees, dependents, contract workers, and trainees. He also assured BBMP that BHEL will continue to extend its support to BBMPs health and welfare-oriented activities. He appreciated the efforts of all employees of EDN in fighting the pandemic working hard during this tough time.
