Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launches ₹300-Crore Development Push in South Delhi

New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday launched a series of development projects worth over ₹300 crore across three South Delhi Assembly constituencies — Badarpur, Sangam Vihar, and Deoli — marking a major infrastructure push aimed at improving civic amenities and living conditions in the region.

Addressing residents during the inaugurations, the chief minister said the projects represent the start of a long-overdue renewal of South Delhi and reaffirm the government’s commitment to holistic and inclusive development.

According to officials, the initiatives cover a wide range of civic works, including construction and refurbishment of roads and drainage networks, strengthening of drinking water supply, installation of street lighting, and development of parks, dispensaries, and community banquet facilities.

Badarpur: ₹85 Crore Worth of Works

In the Badarpur Assembly constituency, projects amounting to ₹85 crore were flagged off. Gupta said the area is set to witness visible change, particularly with focused efforts underway to address the Okhla landfill issue. She emphasized that the government is working in a mission-driven manner to resolve long-standing environmental challenges affecting residents.

The chief minister assured that all projects would be executed with full transparency, completed within defined timelines, and meet strict quality benchmarks, with the objective of transforming Badarpur into a cleaner, safer, and more modern constituency.

Sangam Vihar: Infrastructure Boost of Over ₹115 Crore

In Sangam Vihar, development works exceeding ₹115 crore were launched. Gupta noted that the projects aim to resolve infrastructure gaps that residents have faced for years. Planned works include major road reconstruction, reinforcement of sewerage and drainage systems, enhancement of water supply, and upgrades to lanes, drains, and street lighting, all intended to improve everyday living conditions.

Deoli Included in Development Drive

The chief minister also inaugurated multiple projects in the Deoli Assembly constituency, as part of the broader South Delhi development programme, reinforcing the government’s focus on equitable infrastructure growth across all areas.

Officials said the projects are expected to significantly improve urban infrastructure, sanitation, mobility, and public facilities across the three constituencies once completed.
