Abhay Bakre appointed as Government Nominee Director on Power Grid Board
According to the exchange filing, Ministry of Power conveyed the decision in its order dated April 11, 2025, appointing Bakre, who currently serves as the Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Maharatna CPSE, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the appointment of Abhay Bakre as a Part-time Director (Government Nominee) on its Board. The appointment is effective from April 12, 2025.
According to the exchange filing, Ministry of Power conveyed the decision in its order dated April 11, 2025, appointing Bakre, who currently serves as the Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
His tenure on the Board will continue until his superannuation or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

Abhay Bakre brings over 35 years of extensive experience across multiple sectors, including transport, electrical construction, power distribution, petroleum conservation, and clean energy.
He holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, and an M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Additionally, he is a certified Energy Manager by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
